The shashbau was tied into a braid so that its silver plates chimed as the wearer walked. This modern version is a chain of seven stamped medallions on a leather cord, to wear in the hair or as a long necklace. Quietly musical.

Materials & making
925 silver medallions, vegetable-tanned leather cord 60 cm.
Each piece is made by hand; small variations are part of its character.
Care
Wipe with a soft cloth after wearing. Store in the linen pouch provided, away from other jewelry. A silver polishing cloth will bring back full brightness; avoid dips and chemicals, which strip the oxidised detail.

Aigerim learned to chase silver at her grandfather's bench in the Green Bazaar quarter of Almaty. Her workshop keeps the vocabulary of the steppe — the shanyrak wheel, the ram's-horn koshkar-muiz, the protective tumar amulet — and cuts it with a clean, modern hand. Every piece is made to order or in editions of ten or fewer, hallmarked 925, and finished by Aigerim herself.
