The chapan is the long, open coat of Central Asia, worn by men and women for a thousand years. This one is cut from adras — a silk-warp, cotton-weft ikat with more body than pure silk — lined in plain cotton and finished with hand-stitched piping. Straight cut, one size fits most.

Care
Dry clean, or hand wash cold with a mild wool detergent, roll in a towel and dry flat away from sun. Iron on the reverse at silk setting. Natural dyes soften slightly with the first wash — this is expected.

Margilan Ikat House works with natural indigo, madder and pomegranate skin, and weaves on hand looms at a pace of about two metres a day.
