The Yusupov workshop off Chorsu bazaar has carved the doors and ceilings of Tashkent for three generations. Their small objects — boxes, book stands, trays — use the same girih geometry and islimi vine scrolls, cut into seasoned Fergana walnut and finished with linseed oil. Nothing is stained; the depth of colour is the wood's own.
