About the studio

Bactrian camels grow a downy undercoat to survive minus forty on the central steppe, and it makes one of the warmest, lightest fibres in the world. Steppe Wool combs it by hand each spring, spins it undyed in its natural honey and smoke tones, and knits scarves, throws and cardigans in a cooperative of women in Karaganda.
